Description
This dense, twiggy evergreen shrub is from the Southwestern desert areas. A fine, small-scale hedge plant for a sunny, dry spot or as a specimen in the Xeriscape. Small flowers transform into attractive, feathery seedpods. Responds to light pruning. Small to medium-sized shrub.
I have grown this plant as a container plant for years. It is one of the most forgiving plants I have worked with. In the wild it is also a treat to find along dry trails in the Western parts of the state. To see these plants loaded with seed as the light of the setting sun sets the filaments a blaze with a glowing halo, really makes you stop and watch in awe.
